” I am the husband to the most wonderful woman in the world. Linnie is beautiful inside and out. She is a God fearing women that I have loved since we were teenagers. She is my partner in every way. I am the father of three wonderful children Ashley, Chay and Alivia. They have brought me great joy in my life and they have challenged me to be a better man. I am now the paw-paw to two wonderful grandsons Tristan and Killian, whom I love more than I can express. I also have a Son-in-law, Joshua and another grandchild Jarron, who I am getting to know and love. Pastor Jay--Before becoming a full-time Pastor, Pastor Jay was a successful business man. He managed in the VAP corporation for over 15 yrs. He has served as a pastor since 1994 when he was one of the youngest pastors in the Church of God in the state of Alabama. He holds the credentials of an Ordained Bishop in the Church of God which is the highest rank of ministry in the organization. He is a graduate of Lee University, where he earned a degree a Bachelor of Theology. He has earned two master degrees, Masters of Theological Studies and a Master of Christian Ministries in Leadership from the Pentecostal Theological Seminary. Pastor Jay has served as the Lead Pastor of South Decatur since 2004 and has seen the church through a major building program, remodeling, and growth. Pastor Jay has a heart for people and is a very passionate preacher. He has a gift for speaking the Word of God in a way that reaches out to every person in the congregation.
